Here is a look at some of the all-time great men&#8217;s doubles champions, based on their number of titles, longevity, and overall dominance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Greatest Men&#8217;s Doubles U.S. Open Champions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Bob Bryan\/Mike Bryan<\/strong> (2005, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014)<br>The Bryan Brothers are considered the most successful men&#8217;s doubles team in U.S. Open history. The Bryans are actually &#8220;mirror twins&#8221;, where Mike is right-handed and Bob is left-handed. This allowed them to cover more of the court, more naturally. Their five doubles titles are the most in the Open era.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Richard D. Sears\/James Dwight<\/strong> (1882-84, 1886-87)<br>Sears and Dwight dominated the pre-Open era, winning five titles in six years. Actually, the year the duo didn&#8217;t win the title (1885), Sears won the title with a different partner, Joseph Clark.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Fred B. Alexander\/Harold H. Hackett<\/strong> (1907-1910)<br>From 1905-1911,  Alexander and Hackett appeared in seven consecutive finals. While they lost three of those finals, their streak of four consecutive titles remains a record to this day.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Robert Lutz\/Stan Smith<\/strong> (1968, 1974, 1978, 1980)<br>In addition to being one of the more successful doubles team in U.S. Open history, Lutz and Smith hold the distinction of the longest period between titles (12 years).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Best of the Rest<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>John McEnroe\/Peter Fleming<\/strong> (1979, 1981, 1983)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Maurice E.
